How do i upgrade perks in skyrim?

Im Level 81 and my smithing level is 100. I only recently found out you can upgrade perks. It says whenever i click on level, that i have 80 perks to increase, but when i click on Daedric armour, it doesn't increase. I play on xbox btw.
How do i upgrade perks?
