What type of volunteering do young people do?

I am young person also (I am 22) so i would like to do some volunteering, but also meet people my age. I just like to meet new people, so i have been told that volunteering would be good for me.
Any ideas on what type of volunteering work would be ideal? Also i work full time, so what days would be best also??
